About This Spot

Stepping into Joe's Rusty Nail Restaurant feels like entering a familiar corner of Bellevue where time slows down just enough to savor good food and company. There’s a gentle warmth in the air, a steady hum of easy conversation that hints at regulars who’ve woven this spot into their weekend rituals and weekday escapes alike. The pace is unhurried, inviting you to settle in comfortably — whether you’re here for a hearty breakfast, a relaxed lunch, or an early dinner with family.

The atmosphere is quietly welcoming, a blend of cozy familiarity and thoughtful touches that feel entirely genuine. Friendly staff glide between tables with a practiced grace, balancing attentiveness with an understated cordiality that makes you feel seen without being rushed. It’s the kind of place where servers know your preferences or take the time to answer questions with real care, nurturing a human connection amid the everyday bustle.

The heart of the experience here is the food, proudly handmade and crafted with a dedication that you can taste in every bite. Whether it’s the comforting richness of a homemade meatloaf, the satisfying heartiness of a bacon cheeseburger shared with a hesitant young guest tasting a first hamburger, or the delicate brightness of lemon-sauced penne complemented by salmon, the menu is a gentle invitation to discover flavors that feel both familiar and thoughtfully prepared.

Breakfast at Joe’s is something of a local joy, where eggs come out perfected, biscuits draw quiet admiration, and the classics arrive with just the right touch of warmth and generosity. It’s a place where a crowd might gather for a book club lunch and leave with a sense of shared contentment, or where a couple can reminisce over a meal that echoes fond memories from years past.

More than just a family restaurant or a neighborhood eatery, Joe’s Rusty Nail strikes a balance between being an everyday anchor and a spot for moments worth slowing down for — where community and comfort intersect over steady, lovingly prepared food.

Our first time and it was nice my 12 year old has always been a picky eater so chicken nuggets Mac and cheese and french fries is always his go to but he didn't see any Mac and cheese or chicken nuggets on the menu so he picked a bacon cheeseburger and he had his very first hamburger! And liked it! Hopefully he will continue to try new things!!

I recently hosted my book club here for lunch and all of us had a great time. Our waitress was friendly, helpful, and was able to handle our large group (all with separate checks) with great efficiency. Everyone in the group was very happy and satisfied with their order, as this restaurant serves only handmade foods (everything is handmade from the coleslaw to the meatloaf, you can taste the effort it is made with). The prices are great. I highly recommend this restaurant! Thank you for hosting us!

Everything is amazing here. Everytime. Idk who makes the eggs back there but they are the Egg Master. Cooked to perfection everytime. Soups are always on point. THE BISCUITS! don’t even get me started. Truly amazing. Best breakfast place in Bellevue. All the staff is super sweet and kind also the club sandwich is amazing. Like hands down best one I ever had.

My wife and I just ate at Joe's Rusty Nail. When he had his catering business, they catered our twin daughters Christening some 20 years ago. Everyone raved over the food then. We have been to the restaurant in Bellevue a few times since. Incredible food, service and nice cozy place. Prices are beyond reasonable. Decided to go there today as we do not live super close. Breakfast was amazing. I asked if Joe was there. He was back cooking. Waitress let me go say hello. He remembered catering my kids event way back. Told him everything is amazing. Hard worker. We highly recommend stopping there. You won't be dissatisfied in any way.

Joe’s Rusty Nail knows how to do breakfast right! We stopped by last Saturday, and the food was fantastic, but the real star of the show was Bonnie. She was on top of everything, keeping our drinks full, checking in at just the right moments, and making us feel truly welcome. Service like that is rare! I had a little bit of everything breakfast wise, and it was all phenomenal, hearty portions, great prices, and full of flavor. Plus, we even got to sit in Mr. McFeely’s legendary seat! I do have to go back and try the Reuben because I saw a number of people eating it and it looked really good. Some diners are slipping, but not Joe’s Rusty Nail! If you want great food and even better service, go see Bonnie, you won’t regret it!

We lived in Ross Twp for 23 years and always loved the Rusty Nail. We recently moved back to Pittsburgh after living in Florida for 10 years and Rusty Nail was at the top of our list for a return visit. We went in for lunch on Friday and were thrilled to see the familiar faces of the waitresses and enjoyed a delicious lunch just as it was before we left. Really can’t say enough good things about the food, the staff and the friendly atmosphere. It truly was like coming home! We live a little further away now but we will be back to being regulars for sure!

This small local restaurant is a hidden gem. It’s a place to meet friends, enjoy a great meal, and the servers and Cook and owner all know you. You can get breakfast anytime of the day, they now have delicious, gluten-free options, and you’ll always run into someone you know. Joe, the owner, supports the community in many ways. If you’re looking to step back in time and have a delicious meal and a visit with friends stop by the Rusty Nail on Lincoln Avenue in Bellevue. You won’t be disappointed.
